The city of Mumbai never truly slept.
Even at dusk, the streets were alive—cars rushing past, people chasing their ambitions, and skyscrapers reflecting the golden light of the setting sun. In this city, dreams were built… and sometimes destroyed.
At the very top of one of those towering glass buildings stood Rudra Singhania.
The CEO of Singhania Industries.
Powerful. Ruthless. Untouchable.
His office was silent, except for the faint ticking of the clock on the wall. The large glass window behind him overlooked the entire city.
Rudra stood there with his hands in his pockets, staring at the endless lights below.
From this height, everything looked small. Cars looked like toys. People looked like shadows.
And maybe… that’s exactly how Rudra saw the world.
Small.
Controllable.
Predictable.
“Sir…”
His assistant Aarav stepped inside cautiously.
“The board members are waiting in the conference room.”
Rudra didn’t turn.
“Let them wait.”
Aarav hesitated.
“Sir… they’ve come from Singapore.”
Rudra finally turned around slowly, his sharp dark eyes locking onto Aarav.
“Aarav,” he said calmly, “powerful people don’t chase time. Time waits for them.”
His voice was smooth, confident, and dangerously calm.
Aarav nodded immediately. “Yes, sir.”
Rudra walked toward his desk, picking up a file.
“This deal,” he said while flipping through the pages, “is worth 500 crore. If they want my signature, they can afford to wait ten minutes.”
He closed the file.
“Now tell me… are they patient enough?”
Aarav swallowed. “I’ll… inform them, sir.”
When the door closed again, silence returned.
Rudra leaned slightly against the desk, staring at the city once more.
He had everything.
Money.
Power.
Respect.
Fear.
But sometimes… there was an emptiness he couldn’t explain.
He ignored it.
Because Rudra Singhania never let emotions interfere with success.
Never.
Meanwhile…
In a completely different part of the city…
Life looked very different.
No glass towers.
No boardrooms.
No billion-rupee deals.
Instead, there was laughter.
Children’s voices filled the air as they sat around a small wooden table covered with books and notebooks.
And in the middle of them sat Adhira Varma.
“Didi, yeh maths ka question samajh nahi aa raha,” one little boy complained.
Adhira leaned closer and smiled softly.
“Arre… itna sa question? Tum toh genius ho.”
The boy frowned. “Sach?”
“Bilkul. Bas patience chahiye.”
She picked up a pencil and started explaining.
“Dekho… first step yeh hai. Phir second step. Aur phir answer khud mil jayega.”
The boy’s eyes lit up.
“Ohhh!”
He quickly solved the question.
“I did it!”
Adhira clapped happily. “See? I told you.”
From the doorway, her best friend Meera watched the scene with amusement.
She crossed her arms.
“I swear, Adhira… tum teacher kam, magician zyada ho.”
Adhira laughed softly.
“Aisa kuch nahi hai.”
“Seriously,” Meera continued, walking inside, “itne patience ke saath bachchon ko padhana… not everyone can do that.”
Adhira shrugged.
“Someone has to help them.”
The children soon ran outside to play, leaving the room quiet.
Meera plopped down beside Adhira dramatically.
“You know what?”
“What?”
Meera smirked mischievously.
“Bas… ek din koi rich, handsome, arrogant guy tumse milke impress ho jayega. Guaranteed.”
Adhira burst out laughing.
“Rich… handsome… arrogant?”
“Exactly.”
“Meera,” Adhira said while shaking her head, “tum bahut movies dekhti ho.”
“I’m serious!”
“Real life mein aisa kuch nahi hota.”
Meera leaned closer.
“Tum dekhna… ek din koi bada businessman tumhari life mein entry karega.”
Adhira chuckled.
“Aur phir?”
“Phir drama, romance, heartbreak… everything.”
Adhira stood up and stretched.
“Mujhe drama nahi chahiye.”
“Phir kya chahiye?”
Adhira looked outside at the children playing in the street.
Her smile softened.
“Peace.”
Meera rolled her eyes.
“Boring.”
Adhira laughed again.
But somewhere deep inside… she knew life rarely stayed peaceful forever.
Back in the towering Singhania building…
The meeting room was tense.
Board members sat around the table nervously.
And then the door opened.
Rudra Singhania walked in.
Tall.
Confident.
Commanding.
Every eye in the room followed him.
He sat down calmly at the head of the table.
“Gentlemen,” he said smoothly, “shall we begin?”
One investor cleared his throat.
“Mr. Singhania… we were discussing the merger proposal.”
Rudra leaned back slightly.
“And?”
“We believe it’s risky.”
A faint smirk appeared on Rudra’s face.
“Risky?”
“Yes.”
Rudra folded his hands.
“Let me tell you something.”
The room went silent.
“Great success,” he said slowly, “is always built on great risks.”
He paused.
“But the difference between winners and losers…”
His eyes scanned the room sharply.
“…is that winners know exactly when to take those risks.”
No one spoke.
Because everyone knew.
Rudra Singhania was never wrong.
Later that evening…
Adhira walked home under the soft glow of streetlights.
The air smelled of rain and chai.
Children laughed somewhere nearby.
She stopped for a moment and watched them play.
Her heart felt warm.
“Life is simple,” she whispered to herself.
“Bas log hi ise complicated bana dete hain.”
Meera nudged her again.
“Remember what I said.”
Adhira raised an eyebrow.
“About what?”
“That rich arrogant guy.”
Adhira laughed.
“Impossible.”
Meera grinned.
“We’ll see.”
The city lights shimmered like thousands of stars fallen onto the earth. Luxury cars lined up outside the grand Royal Imperial Hotel, where the biggest corporate gala of the year was about to begin.
Inside, the ballroom glittered with crystal chandeliers and elegant decorations. Influential businessmen, celebrities, and socialites filled the hall, their conversations blending with soft music.
Everyone here had power. But tonight, they were all waiting for one man.
Rudra Singhania.
The black luxury car stopped at the hotel entrance. The driver quickly stepped out and opened the door.
Rudra Singhania stepped out, wearing a perfectly tailored black suit. His presence alone changed the atmosphere around him.
People immediately started whispering. That's Rudra Singhania. The youngest CEO in the country. He built an empire before turning thirty.
Rudra walked calmly toward the entrance, ignoring the stares. He was used to them.
Inside the lobby, Aarav walked beside him."Sir, tonight’s gala includes the biggest investors from Europe and Singapore." Rudra nodded.“Good.”
“Also,” Aarav added carefully, “the media is here.”
Rudra’s expression remained unreadable.“Let them watch.”They entered the ballroom, and suddenly the room fell quieter.
Every eye turned toward him.Confidence radiated from his every step. One businessman approached him immediately.
“Mr. Singhania! It's an honor to meet you.”Rudra gave a polite but distant nod.“Pleasure.”Another businessman joined.
“We've heard incredible things about your new project.”Rudra replied smoothly,“Success doesn’t happen by accident. It happens by planning.”
His tone was calm, powerful—like someone who never doubted himself. Because Rudra Singhania never did.
Meanwhile…
Outside the hotel, another car stopped. But this one wasn’t luxurious.Adhira stepped out nervously, adjusting the simple but elegant dress Meera had forced her to wear.
“This is crazy,” Adhira whispered.Meera grabbed her arm excitedly.“Relax! It’s just a charity event.”
“A charity event inside a five-star hotel,” Adhira muttered.“Exactly! Rich people give donations here.”
Adhira looked around awkwardly. She wasn’t used to places like this.Golden lights, expensive perfumes, people dressed like they walked straight out of magazines.
“This place feels… intimidating,” she admitted.Meera grinned.“Welcome to the fancy world.”
Adhira sighed.“Let’s just finish our work and leave.”
They were here because the charity organization Adhira worked with had been invited to present their project for underprivileged children.
But still…
She felt completely out of place.
Inside the Ballroom Rudra stood near the bar, holding a glass of water.
A group of investors surrounded him.“Mr. Singhania,” one of them said, “how do you manage such massive projects so effortlessly?”
Rudra smirked slightly.“Effortless?”
He shook his head.“There’s nothing effortless about success.”
The investor leaned closer.“Then what’s the secret?”
Rudra answered calmly,“Discipline. Vision. And the courage to make decisions others are afraid to make.”
His voice was smooth but powerful. The kind of voice people naturally listened to.Across the hall, Adhira and Meera quietly entered the ballroom.
Adhira’s eyes widened.“Meera…”
“Yes?”
“This place looks like a movie set. ”Meera laughed softly. “Just act confident.”
Adhira sighed“I wish we could leave already.”But before she could say anything else…
The host announced something on the stage.“Ladies and gentlemen, tonight we celebrate business leaders who are shaping the future.”Applause filled the hall.“And of course… one of the most influential young CEOs in the country…”
