The classroom was almost empty, except for Advik quietly writing in his notebook. Peace. Finally. Or so he thought.Arvi appeared at the doorway like a storm, bag swinging on her shoulder, eyes glinting with mischief.
"Arvi, thodi der chup reh sakti ho?" he asked, still pretending to focus on his notebook.
"Haan..." she said sweetly, her tone suspiciously innocent.
Two seconds later -
"Waise tum itne rude kyun ho?"
Advik sighed heavily. "Do second bhi nahi hua."
Arvi stepped closer, leaning on the desk casually. "Mujhe laga shanti ka lesson milega... par tum boring hi rahe."
"Aur tumhara mission kya hai? Mere patience test karna?" he asked, eyebrow raised."Haan... aur shayad tumhe thoda disturb bhi kar doon." she replied, smirking.
Advik groaned softly, flipping his notebook closed. "Mission accomplished. Ab jao... shanti chahiye mujhe."
"Shanti kaun leta hai jab main yahan hoon?" she whispered teasingly, tapping his desk lightly and walking around his chair in a dramatic circle.
"Tum kabhi nahi badlogi, na?" he muttered under his breath. "Kabhi? Ho sakta hai... par pehle tumhe thoda entertain karna padega." she winked.
Advik rolled his eyes but couldn't hide the tiniest hint of a smile.
"Bas jao... warna main apna notebook aur loud kar dunga."
"Challenge accepted." Arvi whispered with a victorious grin, finally walking back toward the door, leaving him pretending to concentrate while secretly thinking about every word she said.
For a few seconds the classroom returned to silence. The faint sound of chalk from another room echoed through the corridor, and Advik tried to focus again on the page in front of him.
But then -"Waise ek baat puchu?"
He closed his eyes slowly.
Arvi was back. She leaned against the doorframe this time, clearly enjoying herself. "Tum gayi nahi abhi tak?"
"Main gayi thi... bas curiosity wapas le aayi."
Advik sighed. "Ab kya hai?"
Arvi walked back to his desk, tapping the notebook lightly with her finger.
"Tum itna padhte kyun ho?"
Her expression shifted instantly—eyes narrowing just a little.“Aur agar exam na hota?”Advik replied calmly without looking up,“Phir bhi padh leta.”
Arvi blinked in disbelief."Tum sach mein robot ho."
Advik raised an eyebrow. "Aur tum?"
She grinned proudly. "Main chaos hoon."
He says looking at her. "Mujhe pata hai."
Arvi leaned closer, lowering her voice dramatically."Waise ek secret bataun?"
Advik didn’t look up."Mujhe nahi sunna."
"Phir bhi sunoge."He looked at her with quiet annoyance. "Arvi..."
She crossed her arms, pretending to think.
"Mujhe lagta hai tum mujhe secretly ignore nahi karte."
"Kya matlab?"He blinked in disbelief, his expression completely frozen for a second.
"Matlab... agar main aana band kar doon na... toh tumhe thoda boring lagega."
Advik didn't answer immediately. He simply looked back down at his notebook.
"Impossible."
Arvi smiled slowly."Theek hai... kal se disturb karna band."He looked at her and said "Good decision."She started walking toward the door again.
Three steps later she stopped."Par ek problem hai."Advik didn't even look up this time."Kya?"
"Mujhe tumhe irritate karna pasand hai."
He finally looked up, slightly amused despite himself."Mujhe pata tha."
Arvi gave him a small dramatic bow.
"Thank you. Audience ko entertain karna mera talent hai."
"Main audience nahi hoon." He looked at her with playful eyes. "Phir bhi dekhte ho."
For a second neither of them spoke.
Then Arvi walked backward toward the door, pointing at him playfully.
"Kal milte hain, topper sahab." Advik shook his head slowly. "Tum seriously impossible ho."Arvi's smile widened. "Aur phir bhi main roz yahan aa jati hoon. "With that she finally disappeared into the corridor, leaving the classroom quiet again. Advik looked down at his notebook, but the words on the page suddenly felt less interesting.
The history classroom buzzed with noise as the teacher finished writing on the board. Chalk dust floated in the sunlight coming through the windows, and the students were already whispering excitedly. Group work days were always chaotic.
"Pair activity," the teacher announced, adjusting his glasses. "You will work with the partner I assign. "Siva immediately groaned. "Bas ab ye hi baaki tha... history bhi teamwork mein."
Sanvi nudged her lightly. "Chup reh, sunne de."The teacher started reading names from the list. Benches scraped across the floor as students shifted to sit with their partners.
Then the name came."Sanvi... with Vihaan."
For a second, Sanvi froze.
Across the row, Vihaan slowly leaned back in his chair, a lazy smile spreading across his face like he had just won something."Waah... destiny."
Sanvi glared at him immediately. "Shut up."
Behind them, Siva slapped her desk dramatically."Sir! Protest!"The whole class turned to look at her.
The teacher sighed. "What happened, Siva?"
She pointed dramatically at Sanvi and Vihaan."Unko partner bana diya... aur mujhe kaun mila? History book! Ye unfair hai."
A few students laughed.
The teacher shook his head. "You can join another pair if needed. But finish the work."
Siva leaned toward Sanvi's desk instantly.
"Perfect. Main yahin baithti hoon. Entertainment free mein milega."
Sanvi covered her face for a second. "Siva please... "Vihaan rested his chin on his hand, clearly enjoying every second of this.
"Mujhe koi problem nahi hai. Audience achhi hai."
Sanvi grabbed the history notebook and opened it with determination.
"Topic padho. Mughal Empire. Aur kaam start karo. "Vihaan glanced at the page casually.
"The Mughal Empire... powerful rulers, royal courts... drama..." He looked at her again. "Bilkul tumhari tarah." Sanvi's eyes narrowed. "Main Mughal emperor lagti hoon kya?" "Nahi." Vihaan shrugged. Then he added softly, "Par queen vibes definitely hain." Siva gasped loudly. "Ohooo! Direct queen promotion!" Sanvi immediately hit her with the notebook.
"Siva! Chup!" Vihaan chuckled quietly, leaning back again. "Relax, baby doll. Ye toh history discussion hai." Sanvi's head snapped toward him. "Mujhe baby doll mat bolo." He says looking at her."Toh kya bolu? Sanvi ji?"
"Haan. Wo better hai." Vihaan pretended to think. "Nahi... boring hai." Siva leaned over the desk dramatically. "Main suggestion doon?" Sanvi looked terrified. "Nahi."
Too late.
"Future queen." Vihaan burst out laughing.
Sanvi covered her face with both hands.
"Mujhe class change karni hai." The teacher looked up from the front. "Everything okay back there?"
Three voices answered instantly.
"Yes sir!" The teacher returned to his papers.
Sanvi leaned closer to Vihaan, whispering angrily.
"Tum dono mujhe pagal kar doge." Vihaan lowered his voice too. "Tum already thodi ho." She glared at him. "Main serious hoon. Project finish karna hai." "Theek hai."
He leaned closer to the notebook, reading the page. For about thirty seconds, there was actual silence.
Siva stared at both of them suspiciously.
"Ye suspicious hai. Tum dono itne shaant kyun ho?"
Sanvi whispered sharply. "Kyuki hum kaam kar rahe hain!" Vihaan suddenly pointed to the book. "Dekho... yahan likha hai Mughal emperors powerful hote the.""Toh?"
He looked at her with a teasing smile.
"Mujhe lagta hai tum bhi waise hi ho."She looks at him and says"Matlab?"
"Gussa bhi royal level ka hai."
Siva nearly fell off her chair laughing.
Sanvi grabbed a pen and pointed it at him threateningly."Ek aur comment kiya na..."
"So what?"
"Toh main tumhe history bana dungi."
Vihaan leaned back again, clearly entertained. "Dangerous ho tum."
Siva nodded seriously.
"Warning label hona chahiye Sanvi par."
Sanvi sighed dramatically and went back to writing.
"Bas. Kaam khatam karte hain." Vihaan watched her quietly for a moment.
Then he leaned closer and whispered just loud enough for her to hear.
"Waise gussa karte waqt tum aur cute lagti ho."
Sanvi froze. Her pen stopped moving.
Siva's eyes widened like she had just discovered a secret. "Mujhe lagta hai history project se zyada interesting story yahan chal rahi hai."
Sanvi buried her face in the notebook.
"Siva... agar tumne ek aur word bola na..."
Siva raised her hands dramatically.
"Theek hai! Main chup!" She paused.
Then whispered anyway.
"But seriously... ye love story slow motion mein chal rahi hai."
Vihaan leaned back with a satisfied smile.
Sanvi groaned softly.
The library period was always quiet. Almost too quiet. The tall windows let in soft afternoon sunlight, and rows of bookshelves stood like silent guards around the room. Most students were scattered at different tables, pretending to read while secretly whispering.
At one corner table sat Advik, Daksh, and Dvesh from class 11. Their notebooks were open, pens moving steadily, expressions serious as always. To most people in school, they were known as the calm, responsible toppers who rarely got involved in drama.
Daksh was explaining something from a reference book.
"Ye paragraph important hai. Notes bana lo."
Advik nodded quietly, writing it down with neat handwriting. Dvesh glanced at the page and added a small point beside the line.
"Exam mein ye question aa sakta hai."
Across the table, two slightly younger students were trying very hard to look equally serious.
Arvi and Ruhi, both from class 10, sat with their own notebooks. Technically, they were supposed to be writing a short story for their English assignment.
Technically.
Arvi tapped her pen against the notebook, staring blankly at the page.
"Mujhe samajh nahi aa raha kya likhun."
Ruhi whispered softly, smiling.
"Story likho. Sir ne bola tha imagination use karo." Arvi sighed dramatically.
"Mera imagination toh yahin khatam ho gaya."
She slowly looked up from her notebook.
Directly at Advik. He was still writing quietly, completely focused on his notes like the rest of the world didn't exist. Arvi smirked slightly. "Actually idea mil gaya."
Ruhi immediately understood that look.
"Arvi..."
Too late.
Arvi leaned forward on the table.
"Advik bhaiya... ek question hai."
Advik looked up calmly. "Haan?"
"Agar koi character story mein bahut serious ho... aur koi usse disturb karta rahe... toh story interesting hogi na?"
Daksh already knew something suspicious was happening. Dvesh quietly watched the scene without reacting. Advik answered simply. "Ho sakti hai." Arvi nodded thoughtfully like a writer analyzing her plot.
"Aur agar woh serious character irritate ho jaye... toh aur interesting."
Ruhi tried to hide her smile behind her notebook.
Daksh glanced at Advik. Advik sighed softly.
"Arvi... tum story likh rahi ho ya experiment kar rahi ho?" Arvi grinned proudly. "Creative writing bolte hain isko." Ruhi whispered quietly. "Meri story toh simple hai... childhood friends meet again." Daksh looked at her for a second. "Achha concept hai." Ruhi's smile grew slightly brighter.
Arvi noticed immediately. "Ohooo... review bhi mil gaya."
Ruhi blushed lightly. Meanwhile Dvesh looked at Arvi's empty notebook. "Tumne abhi tak ek line bhi nahi likhi."Arvi leaned back casually. "Writer ko inspiration chahiye hoti hai." Advik shook his head slowly and returned to his notebook. "Toh inspiration dhoondo. Hume disturb mat karo." Arvi tapped her pen again. "Par inspiration yahin baithi hai." Ruhi laughed quietly.
Daksh closed his book for a moment.
"Tum dono ka assignment kab submit hai?"
"Kal." Ruhi answered. "Aur Arvi ka?"
Ruhi looked at Arvi's empty page."Kal hi... unfortunately."
Arvi suddenly started writing quickly. Everyone looked at her. "Kya hua?" Dvesh asked. Arvi smirked. "Story start ho gayi."
Ruhi leaned closer. "Kya likha?" Arvi read the first line proudly.
"Once there was a very serious boy who wanted peace... but chaos kept following him."
Daksh almost laughed. Advik slowly looked up again."Arvi..." She smiled innocently.
"Relax. Fiction hai." Dvesh quietly muttered,
"Fiction... thoda sa." Ruhi giggled softly, covering her mouth.
